Dancia

British Franchise Association Member

Dancia originated in Brighton in 1947, when it became the first specialist dancewear shop to open outside London. The present owners, Tim and Diane Kirkup, purchased the business in 1983 and have developed it substantially. In addition to traditional dance clothing and footwear, the merchandise range has been broadened to include an impressive range of shoes for Ballroom, Latin, Salsa, Jive and Argentine Tango.
Dancia prides itself on the quality and range of products it stocks. The staff are extensively trained and they believe that they offer the best Pointe shoe fitting in the country.

In response to demand from customers in other parts of the U.K., a mail order service was established, which is now an element of the Dancia franchise programme. Growth continued with the opening of shops in Epsom in 1984, London’s Drury Lane in 1987 and Slough in 1996.

They are all successful and the practical experience and know-how gained in setting up and building trade at each shop is reflected in the Dancia Franchise, to which this prospectus aims to provide an insight.
